Castel Hörtenberg carries out important daily practices that are slowly becoming a grand project that is destined to grow day by day.

Reduction of environmental impact through small steps (use of plastic free recycled materials with low environmental impact); 

We would like to illustrate the first steps towards this significant goal, mainly.

  • We use organic cotton for every type of fabric, from sponges to towels to sheets
  • Our chip card room keys are made out of recycled untreated wood
  • Bathroom toiletries are completely biodegradable, made with oil-free natural essences, not animal testing
  • Recycled bottles used for toiletry refills
  • Eco-friendly, non-aggressive cleaning and sanitizing products
  • Ecological, Ecolabel certified, low impact products for rooms and people
  • No single-dose plastic used
  • Eco-friendly, plastic free, low impact shower slippers, delivered only on demand
  • Eco-sustainable, Ecolabel certified materials to clean the common areas
  • Home automation systems to reduce energy consumption
  • Separate collection in all areas of the Hotel
  • Eco-friendly restaurant and bar menus, 90% recycled paper, no bleaching to waste less water

424.000 Saved trees

If every household replaced one roll of regular toilet paper with one recycled post-consumer waste roll, 424,000 trees would be saved.

20% Air - 50% Water

Recycling a glass bottle also causes 20% less air pollution & 50% less water pollution than when a new bottle is made from raw materials.

1.000 Years

Say no to bags when you go shopping! A plastic bag is used for an average of 12 minutes but will remain in the environment for 1,000 years before it decomposes.
