The plateau’s breath

The peaceful Renon plateau is a relaxing, atmospheric place. Flower-filled meadows, conifer forests and historic footpaths tempt visitors to a leisurely stroll. Its scattered villages tell stories of traditions and human-land bonds in the midst of wide-open views of the Dolomites. Nature, memory and peace and quiet go hand in hand here, bringing past and present together. Time slows down on board the historic Rittner Bahn train, too, as it chugs slowly through panoramic meadows and villages.

Panoramas and legends

The views from Renon stretch out in all directions, taking in vineyards, hills and valley towns like a moving painting. Ancient hospitable farmhouses serve up authentic flavours. Local legends meld with breezes and birdsong in woods and clearings. The plateau’s flora and earth pyramids - spectacular late-ice-age moraine clay formations - can be admired on foot or by bike, on the area's many trails. Hanging over the valley and the plateau, the cable car is a great way down, reminding us that mountain beauties are always close at hand here.
